Sometimes the best way to make an impact is to show up.

This October, Heather Pennington will be stepping outside of her usual role as Chief Marketing Officer and onto the runway as part of Best Self Atlanta’s Over 40 & Fabulous Fashion Meets Passion, an event bringing together fashion, community, and an important cause.

Taking place October 23 at 103 West in Buckhead, Fashion Meets Passion will celebrate the Over 40 & Fabulous community with a retro-inspired fashion show, cover reveal, and disco dance party. More importantly, the event is raising support for IRIS Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals navigate the physical and emotional challenges that can continue long after breast cancer treatment ends.

Supporting the Journey Beyond Treatment

A breast cancer diagnosis can change nearly every part of a person’s life. While much of the conversation understandably focuses on diagnosis and treatment, recovery doesn’t necessarily end when treatment does.

That’s where organizations like IRIS make a difference.

IRIS provides specialized, evidence-based rehabilitation designed to help breast cancer patients and survivors regain strength, mobility, function, and confidence. Its services include physical therapy, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, lymphedema screening and management, emotional support, and fitness programs. This year’s Fashion Meets Passion event is an opportunity to help support that work.

For Heather, participating in Fashion Meets Passion is about more than getting dressed up and walking a runway.

It’s about being part of a community that believes in using its platform to give back.

Heather is currently raising $1,000 to support IRIS, and every contribution, large or small, can help support the organization’s mission of helping breast cancer patients and survivors move forward with greater strength, support, and quality of life.
